Duties
- Perform a variety of massage techniques including Swedish, deep tissue, wood therapy, lymphatic, trigger point therapy, sports massage, prenatal massage, and occupational health treatments to meet individual client needs.
- Conduct thorough patient assessments to understand specific concerns, medical history, and treatment goals.
- Educate clients on massage benefits, post-treatment care, and self-care strategies to support ongoing wellness.
- Maintain detailed records of each session, including techniques used and client feedback, ensuring accurate documentation for future reference.
- Communicate effectively with clients to tailor treatments based on their preferences and physiological responses.
- Ensure all safety protocols are followed by maintaining cleanliness, hygiene standards, and current CPR certification.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals when necessary to support comprehensive patient care plans.
Experience
- Proven experience in massage therapy with a strong background in Swedish massage, wood therapy, deep tissue techniques, trigger point therapy, sports massage, and prenatal massage.
- Knowledge of human physiology, anatomy, and medical terminology to accurately assess patient needs and adapt treatments accordingly.
- Prior experience in medical spa or occupational health settings is highly desirable.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly with clients about treatment options and health concerns.
- Experience managing pain relief or pain management programs through various massage modalities.
- Certification as a Licensed Massage Therapist in accordance with state licensing requirements; CPR certification is mandatory.
- Familiarity with med spa operations or similar wellness environments is a plus.
