Nail Technician

Responsibilities

• Perform a variety of nail services such as manicures, pedicures, gel applications, acrylic nails, and nail extensions with precision and creativity
• Apply color theory principles to recommend suitable shades and designs that complement clients' skin tones and preferences
• Maintain strict salon safety protocols by adhering to sanitation and disinfection procedures for tools, equipment, and workstations
• Communicate effectively with clients to understand their needs, provide expert advice on nail care, and upsell retail products when appropriate
• Ensure client comfort throughout treatments while fostering a welcoming and professional atmosphere
• Stay updated on the latest trends in nail art, techniques like dermabrasion or esthetic laser treatments, and new product offerings to enhance service quality
• Manage retail sales efficiently by applying retail math skills to meet sales goals and promote additional services

Qualifications

• Proven experience working in the beauty industry as a Nail Technician or similar role with a strong portfolio of nail art and design work
• Knowledge of nail care techniques including acrylic application, gel manicures, nail extensions, and advanced procedures like eyelash extensions or body waxing is preferred
• Familiarity with salon safety protocols, sanitation standards, disinfection procedures, and client communication best practices
• Certification in cosmetology or related beauty disciplines is required; additional training in esthetic laser treatment or hair styling is a plus
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to educate clients on nail health and recommend appropriate services or products
• Strong customer service orientation with an energetic attitude that motivates both clients and team members
• Ability to upsell services confidently while maintaining high standards of hygiene and professionalism
