Skye Stylez Studio is looking for an experienced Hairstylist/Colorist to join our team!

Responsibilities

Client Consultation & Services:

Welcome clients and conduct thorough consultations to understand their preferences, hair type, and facial features, and recommend suitable styles and treatments. Perform a wide range of services, including:

• Shampooing, cutting, trimming, and shaping hair using various techniques and tools (scissors, clippers, razors).
• Applying diverse hair coloring methods, such as highlights, babylights, and balayage.
• Styling hair for everyday looks and formal events, including blowouts, braids, and updos.
• Performing chemical treatments (perms, keratin smoothing) and scalp treatments.
• Applying hair extensions is a plus.

Client Relationship Management:

Form strong bonds with clients to ensure satisfaction and encourage repeat business and referrals. Maintain detailed client records of services provided, preferences, and any sensitivities.

Product Recommendations & Sales:

Educate clients on hair health and recommend appropriate retail hair care products and home maintenance routines to promote product sales.

Marketing & Social Media:

Social media skills for a salon include creating high-quality visual content like before-and-after photos and videos, writing engaging captions, and using platforms like Instagram, TikTok, and Google Business Profile to showcase work and expertise.

Salon Operations & Sanitation:

• Manage bookings and appointments efficiently, accommodating walk-ins as needed.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary workstation and ensure all tools and equipment are sterilized according to health and safety regulations.
• Assist with general salon upkeep, inventory control, and processing payments as required.

Professional Development:

Stay current with the latest industry trends, styling techniques, and new product offerings through ongoing education and training.

Qualifications & Skills

• Required Licensing: A valid state cosmetology or barbering license is mandatory.
• Experience: Proven work experience as a hair stylist, hairdresser, or colorist in a professional salon environment (typically a minimum of 2+ years is expected for an "experienced" role).
• Working Days: Able to work at least 4 days.
• Technical Skills: Expertise in various cutting, coloring, and styling techniques, and proficiency in using professional equipment like clippers, straighteners, and blow-dryers.

• Strong customer service skills and a friendly, professional demeanor to build rapport.
