Responsibilities

• Greet clients warmly and manage appointment scheduling using salon software to ensure efficient flow of services
• Assist stylists and technicians with hair extensions, hair styling techniques including color theory
• Maintain salon sanitation standards by cleaning tools, stations, and common areas to promote a safe environment for staff and clients
• Support retail sales by upselling hair products, retail math calculations, and promoting additional services
• Manage front desk duties including answering phone calls, checking clients in/out, and handling client inquiries with excellent communication skills
• Assist with store management tasks such as inventory control, retail stock organization, and maintaining cleanliness of the salon environment
• Mentor new team members on service protocols, sanitation practices, and customer service excellence to foster a collaborative team atmosphere

Experience

• Previous experience working in a salon or barbering environment is preferred but not required; enthusiasm for learning is key
• Knowledge of salon software platforms like Square or similar management tools is highly desirable
• Familiarity with shampooing, blow-drying, and color theory will set you apart
• Strong communication skills to connect effectively with clients and team members
• Experience in retail sales, upselling techniques, and store management enhances your ability to succeed in this role
• Basic understanding of sanitation practices specific to cosmetology and barbering standards is essential
