Aciana J Hair Studio specializes in loc maintenance. We deliver a spa-like experience in a private, upscale setting, focusing on personalized care for every client. Our salon is known for professionalism, relaxation, and expert loc services.

We are hiring a Loc Stylist to help maintain a seamless client experience while keeping the salon operating efficiently. This role is perfect for someone passionate about the beauty industry, eager to learn, and looking to grow in a professional salon environment.

This will be Commission-Based Pay.

Responsibilities

• Perform professional loc maintenance services, including retwists, styling, shampooing, and conditioning treatments.
• Assess clients' hair and scalp needs and recommend appropriate maintenance practices and services.
• Provide a consistent, high-quality client experience aligned with AJHS standards.
• Educate clients on proper loc maintenance, healthy hair practices, and at-home care.
• Maintain cleanliness, sanitation, and organization of workstations, tools, and shared salon areas.
• Follow salon service protocols, safety standards, and appointment schedules.
• Manage appointment timing efficiently while maintaining quality and attention to detail.
• Assist with client consultations, service preparation, and checkout procedures as needed.
• Maintain professionalism, punctuality, and clear communication with clients and team members.
• Participate in ongoing training, professional development, and salon initiatives.
• Support a positive team environment and contribute to the overall growth and success of AJHS.

Qualifications

• Current cosmetology student or active Massachusetts cosmetology license.
• Prior salon, spa, or customer service experience preferred but not required (training available).
• Experience with loc maintenance, retwisting, and loc styling.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
• Willingness to learn, grow, and follow AJHS service standards.
