Seeking a Senior Stylist with 5+ years experience and a proven mastery of modern coloring techniques, and precision cutting.
Position Overview:
The Senior Stylist is a part time or full time position for an experienced stylist who performs high-quality cuts, advanced hair color, highlights, balayage, corrective color, and styling.
The Senior Stylist is able to conduct thorough consultations to understand client goals, analyze hair condition and face shape and recommend personalized looks. You’ll educate clients on home care routines and recommend retail products specific for client needs.
The successful stylist will be able to:
Maintain a clean, organized, and professional workstation
Follow salon sanitation and safety standards
Work collaboratively with the salon team and support a positive and enjoyable work environment
Build and retain a loyal clientele. (If you already have a strong following, that’s great too, but ideally you’ll be able to accept some of our fabulous clients and make them your own.)
Photograph and document your work to help develop your portfolio and social presence

Alter Hair Salon is a thriving boutique salon in the heart of Newburyport, owned by Master Stylist Lauren Magnifico, a 2014 graduate of the Aveda Arts & Sciences Academy in New York. Alter is an upscale salon specializing in modern cuts, gorgeous color and personalized service. Compensation:
The Senior Stylist position offers a tiered commission. Rates will be set based on level of experience as well as number of hours worked. A commission on product sales is also provided.
