Hair Stylist

Responsibilities

• Help clients decide their ideal haircut and hairstyle.
• Complete haircutting techniques, including trims, layers, and texturizing.
• Perform hair coloring methods, such as highlights, ombre, and balayage.
• Style hair, including blowouts, curls, braids, ponytails, and updos.
• Upsell clients on products and services.
• Develop ongoing relationships with clients.
• Keep a clean station and sanitize all tools.
• Follow all salon policies and procedures.

Requirements

• Knows haircutting, hairstyling, and hair coloring best practices.
• Communicates clearly and has strong active listening skills.
• Builds long-term relationships with clients and has excellent social skills.
• Collaborates with other hair stylists and managers and is a team player.
• Works confidently in a fast-paced salon, has good time-management skills, is punctual, and is detail oriented.
• A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
• An active cosmetology license in MA is required.
