Salon Manager Responsibilities:
The Salon Manager serves as both a working stylist and people leader. The role is intentionally structured with an equal focus: 50% guest-facing service execution and 50% people leadership, including performance management, coaching, mentoring, and supporting stylists in achieving their professional and business goals.
Lead by example as the salon’s top performing stylist
Oversee daily business operations and ensure smooth salon performance
Lead and manage a small team of stylists, fostering a positive, high-performance culture
Drive sales through service excellence, retail recommendations, and client retention strategies
Manage appointment-based scheduling and maximize stylist efficiency
Ensure an excellent client experience for both kids and families
Assist with inventory management, sales forecasting, and revenue growth
Recruit, hire, and onboard new team members
Support marketing initiatives and community engagement to grow the salon’s visibility
Requirements:
Current state cosmetology license or certification
Expertise in cutting, coloring, and styling hair
Experienced in keeping children comfortable and engaged while delivering a high-quality haircut experience
Proven leadership, management or training experience (industry experience in beauty, hospitality, or retail preferred)
Strong business acumen with a focus on sales, operations, and profitability
Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weeknights and weekends
Tech-savvy with basic computer skills
A passion for building relationships and creating memorable client experiences
