Overview

We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Salon Assistant to join our dynamic team at Beauty Lounge by Lex. The ideal candidate will have a passion for the beauty industry and a desire to learn and grow within a salon environment. As a Salon Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting our stylists and enhancing the overall client experience.

Key Responsibilities

Front Desk & Client Experience

  • Greet and check in clients, ensuring a warm and professional first impression.
  • Manage appointment bookings, confirmations, cancellations, and rescheduling.
  • Handle payments, retail sales, and loyalty/rewards tracking.
  • Assist clients before services (wash/prep hair, provide refreshments, answer questions).
  • Ensure client areas are clean, comfortable, and fully stocked.

Administrative & Operational Support

  • Support the Owner in daily operations, acting as a second point of contact for the team.
  • Maintain salon supplies and inventory; track usage and restock as needed.
  • Assist with scheduling and internal team communications.
  • Organize and maintain salon files, client records, and vendor information.
  • Help enforce salon policies and ensure compliance with safety and sanitation standards.

Event Planning & Marketing Support

  • Assist in planning and coordinating salon events, promotions, and community initiatives.
  • Support marketing efforts by helping with content ideas, social media scheduling, and customer outreach.
  • Coordinate with collaborators, vendors, and partners for events and campaigns.

Team & Leadership Support

  • Provide daily support to stylists and staff, ensuring smooth transitions between appointments.
  • Step in to resolve client concerns with professionalism and empathy.
  • Encourage a positive, team-oriented salon culture.
  • Act as a leader when the Owner is unavailable, ensuring operations continue smoothly.

Qualifications

  • Prior salon/spa experience preferred, but not required—training will be provided.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
  • Excellent communication and customer service abilities.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a positive attitude.
  • Interest in the beauty industry and willingness to learn salon services.
