Salon Assistant / Shampoo Professional

Must have a New York State Cosmetology license to join our salon team as a Salon Assistant / Shampoo professional.

In this role, you'll be the first to greet clients, provide exceptional shampooing and conditioning services, and support our stylists with a variety of essential salon duties. Your enthusiasm and attention to detail will help create a welcoming atmosphere where clients feel pampered and valued. This paid position plus tips and commission. Responsibilities

• Greet clients warmly and assist with their check-in at the front desk using salon software
• Perform professional shampooing, conditioning, and scalp treatments to prepare clients for styling or coloring services
• Support stylists and colorists with hair styling, blow-drying, and mixing color
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards across all work areas, tools, and equipment to ensure a safe environment for clients and staff
• Assist with retail sales by recommending hair care products and upselling services to enhance client satisfaction
• Manage appointment scheduling efficiently, ensuring smooth flow of client services throughout the day
• Support store management with inventory checks, product replenishment, and maintaining an organized workspace

Skills

• Be open to guidance and willing to learn
• Completed Cosmetology School
• Excellent customer service skills with clear communication abilities to build rapport with clients
• Experience in retail sales, upselling products and services confidently while prioritizing client needs
• Knowledge of sanitation procedures to uphold health standards in a busy salon environment

Compensation

Pay: From $17.00 per hour
