Salon Assistant at Merissa Leigh Salon

We are a luxury salon in Greenwich focused on creating an elevated client experience while fostering a positive, team-oriented environment. This position is ideal for a licensed cosmetologist or recent cosmetology graduate who is eager to continue learning, strengthen their skills, and grow into a successful stylist.

As a Salon Assistant, you'll work closely with our stylists and salon leadership while learning the standards and systems behind the Merissa Leigh Salon experience.

Responsibilities

• Assisting stylists throughout the client's appointment
• Shampooing, conditioning, treatments, and scalp massages
• Preparing clients for color and styling services
• Mixing color and assisting with color services
• Blow-drying and styling as skills progress
• Maintaining a clean, organized, and fully stocked salon
• Preparing stations and supplies between clients
• Laundry, towels, capes, and general salon upkeep
• Greeting clients and helping create a welcoming environment
• Supporting the flow of the salon during busy days
• Learning product knowledge and proper product recommendations
• Participating in hands-on education, model work, and training

Who We're Looking For

• Licensed in cosmetology in Connecticut or currently completing licensing requirements
• Passionate about the beauty industry
• Interested in building a long-term career as a hairstylist
• Reliable, punctual, and professional
• Positive and receptive to coaching
• Detail-oriented and able to take initiative
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced salon
• Team-oriented and willing to help wherever needed
