Retail Sales Associate (Hair Expert) Part-time at The Hair Shop

Position Summary

The Hair Shop Hair Expert is a dynamic consultant that approaches customers, identifies their needs, and recommends products and extensions to fulfill those needs. They should be knowledgeable in our products, color matching, customer service driven, and cross-selling.

Essential Functions

• Greet and engage with each customer that comes into the store in a warm manner.
• Actively seek out customers in store, cross-sell products and "go the extra mile" to drive sales.
• Utilize operational interactivity to comfortably connect with our customers.
• Build productive trust relationships with customers.
• Assess customers' needs and provide assistance and information on product features.
• Assist customers by utilizing excellent, in-depth knowledge of The Hair Shop's products and service procedures.
• Accurately complete transactions for customers you assist in a quick and efficient manner.
• Remain knowledgeable on products offered and discuss available options.
• Maintain knowledge of current sales and promotions, policies regarding payment and exchanges, and security practices.
• Deliver exceptional customer service and respond resourcefully to customer requests and concerns.
• Create an inviting environment for customers by maintaining a neat and clean store.
• Perform light cleaning duties such as wiping windows, counters and sweeping/mopping.
• Assist with development of new and existing products, tools, and kits.
• Conduct competitor research, and stay up to date on industry trends.
• Play a critical role in establishing training standards at The Hair Shop.
• Team up with co-workers to ensure proper customer service and positive retail experience.
• Arrive on time for scheduled shift.
• Follow The Hair Shop's policies and procedures.
• Any other duties assigned by management.

Education & Experience Requirements

• 1+ years of beauty experience
• 1+ years of customer service

Knowledge & Skill Requirements

• Solid knowledge & understanding of hair extensions
• Strong knowledge of company policy, goals and standards.
• Ability to assume responsibility & exercise good judgment when making decisions within the scope of the position.
• Ability to perform the job safely & with respect for others, for property, & for individual safety.
