Nail Technician at Athena's Beauty

We are seeking someone who provides excellent nail services while also understanding that great customer service, cleanliness, teamwork, punctuality, and communication are essential parts of the position.

Responsibilities

• Perform high-quality regular and gel manicures and pedicures
• Complete standard manicure and pedicure appointments within approximately 45 minutes, including removal of existing regular or gel polish when necessary
• Properly shape, file, buff, and care for clients' nails and cuticles
• Apply polish and gel neatly, evenly, and with strong attention to detail
• Maintain proper sanitation and disinfection of tools, equipment, and workstations between every client
• Keep the nail area, pedicure stations, floors, counters, and shared salon spaces clean and organized
• Help with general salon cleaning and upkeep throughout the shift
• Properly dispose of used materials and maintain clean, organized supplies
• Greet and check in clients when needed
• Check clients out, accurately process payments, and assist with rebooking future appointments
• Remain attentive to clients throughout their entire service
• Provide friendly, professional, and respectful customer service
• Communicate clearly with clients about their services and preferences
• Recommend appropriate nail services and add-ons when they would genuinely benefit the client
• Stay aware of the appointment schedule and manage time effectively to avoid unnecessary delays
• Assist coworkers when necessary and contribute to a positive, team-oriented salon environment
• Notify management when products or supplies are running low
• Follow all salon policies, sanitation procedures, and service standards

Requirements

• Experience performing manicures and pedicures
• Ability to perform both regular polish and gel services
• Ability to safely remove existing gel and regular polish
• Strong attention to detail and consistent quality of work
• Good time-management skills and ability to stay on schedule
• Professional appearance and behavior
• Friendly and comfortable communicating with clients
• Reliable transportation and ability to arrive on time for scheduled shifts
• Dependable attendance is essential. Employees are expected to report for all scheduled shifts unless properly excused or approved by management.
• Strong communication with management regarding scheduling, lateness, emergencies, or other issues
• Willingness to clean and help maintain the salon rather than limiting responsibilities only to performing nail services
• Ability to work well as part of a team
• Must hold any New York State license or authorization required to legally perform the services assigned to them
