Part-Time Licensed Massage Therapist at Aliviar

We are looking for an experienced bodyworker who is confident in their abilities but also open to learning, mentorship, and developing their skill set. Our approach is centered around understanding each client's individual needs, identifying areas that require attention, and providing thoughtful, effective treatment rather than simply performing the same massage routine for every client.

You will have the opportunity to work in a beautiful, professional studio environment while becoming part of a growing NYC practice.

Responsibilities

• Provide professional, individualized massage therapy based on each client's needs and goals
• Perform therapeutic, orthopedic, deep tissue, sports, prenatal, TMJ, and relaxation-focused treatments as appropriate to your training and experience
• Communicate with clients to understand their concerns, goals, and treatment needs
• Educate clients on their body's needs and appropriate treatment recommendations
• Maintain a clean, organized, and professional treatment room
• Help maintain a welcoming and professional studio environment
• Rebook clients and assist with maintaining client continuity and retention
• Maintain professional boundaries and a high standard of client care
• Participate in ongoing training and mentorship to continue developing clinical and hands-on skills

Experience & Qualifications

• 2+ years of professional massage therapy experience
• Active New York State Massage Therapy License
• Professional liability/malpractice insurance
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Professional, dependable, and team-oriented
• Comfortable working independently while being receptive to feedback and mentorship
• Ability to tailor treatments based on individual client needs

Experience with the following is a plus:

• Orthopedic massage
• Therapeutic massage
• Sports massage
• Deep tissue
• Prenatal massage
• TMJ-focused work
• Myofascial release
• Trigger point therapy
• Active release/mobilization techniques
• Thai-style stretching
• Cupping
• Muscle scraping/Graston

Specific technique experience is not required across the board. We value a strong foundation, willingness to learn, and the ability to develop your skills. Additional training and mentorship will be provided, including assessment techniques and client rebooking/client-care processes.
