Loc Color Specialist at NappStar NYC

We are NappStar, a hair salon that specializes in Locs! We are looking for a Color Specialist to provide color services to our clients. Colorists must be familiar with natural hair care, as their responsibilities may include consulting customers on colors, aftercare, and maintenance. Ultimately, you will ensure all customers leave our salon satisfied with our services and feel happy with their new look. Training is provided and mandatory for this position to familiarize yourself with our standards.

Responsibilities

• Must be well acquainted with the technicalities of hair color, depth, and tone.
• You must be able to work with a range of techniques, including permanent, semi-permanent, and highlighting.
• Welcome customers and identify their preferences by asking pointed questions.
• Provide consultations and recommend color selections according to customers' hair condition, tastes, lifestyle and occasions.
• Wash, rinse and dry clients' hair.
• Apply hair treatment products, as needed (e.g. color protection creams and hydrating masks).
• Coming in to work camera ready to be showcased on Social Media.
• Form bonds with loyal customers and remember their color preferences.
• Ensure tidiness of beauty stations and sterilize tools, as needed.
