Licensed Hair Stylist

Silk Hair Boutique is redefining the textured hair salon experience through consistency, transparency, and exceptional service. Our intentionally curated service menu allows us to focus on what we do best, delivering beautiful results while respecting our clients' time and trust.

We're seeking a licensed natural hairstylist to help bring that vision to life. As part of the Silk team, you'll provide our signature services, educate clients on healthy hair practices, and create a welcoming experience at every pop-up. Beyond technical talent, we're looking for someone who is dependable, client-focused, and excited to grow alongside a brand that's raising the standard for textured hair care.

What You'll Do

• Deliver signature Silk services including silk presses, sew-in refreshes, and protective style takedowns with consistent, high-quality results

• Consult with clients before every service to understand their hair history, goals, and concerns

• Maintain a clean, organized station that reflects the Silk standard

• Collaborate with the Silk team to create a warm, welcoming environment at every pop-up

• Follow proper heat protection and hair health protocols on every client

• Tag and engage with Silk on social media when sharing your work

What We're Looking For

• Active New York State cosmetology or natural hair care license

• Demonstrated experience with natural and textured hair — 4a, 4b, and 4c textures specifically

• A portfolio of silk press and natural hair work (Instagram or digital portfolio accepted)

• Punctual, professional, and takes pride in their craft

• Comfortable working pop-up style events (not a traditional salon environment)

Compensation

• Commission-based with a guaranteed day rate floor

• Competitive split — details shared during the interview process
