Hair Stylist Assistant at Salon West
Salon West is seeking a reliable, organized Hair Stylist Assistant to support our stylists and help create a welcoming experience for clients. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a busy salon and is interested in growing their skills in the beauty industry.Responsibilities
- Assist stylists with client preparation and service flow
- Shampoo and condition clients' hair, and assist with blow-drying and styling as assigned
- Prepare and organize supplies and color products as directed
- Keep stations, shampoo areas, and shared spaces clean and organized
- Help with laundry, restocking, and general salon upkeep
- Greet and guide clients as needed
- Communicate professionally with clients and the salon team
Qualifications
- Salon, customer service, or beauty-industry experience is a plus
- Dependable, punctual, and comfortable working as part of a team
- Friendly and professional with clients
- Strong attention to cleanliness and detail
- Cosmetology school enrollment or prior salon assistant experience is a plus
- An active New York State cosmetology license is required for duties that require licensure; applicants without a license may be considered for support duties that do not require one
