Responsibilities

• Perform a wide range of hair services including cutting, styling, coloring, extensions, and texturizing treatments using industry best practices.
• Maintain high standards of sanitation and cleanliness in all work areas following health regulations and salon protocols.
• Utilize salon software like Vagaro to schedule appointments, manage client records, and process retail sales efficiently.
• Engage with clients through effective communication to understand their needs and offer professional recommendations.
• Sell and discuss retail products such as shampoos, conditioning treatments, and styling products, with a potential retail commission rate.
• Manage front desk responsibilities including greeting clients, checking in appointments, and handling retail transactions with retail math accuracy.
• Mentor junior staff or apprentices by sharing techniques in hair styling, coloring theory, barbering (including straight razor use), and customer service excellence.

Requirements

• Valid cosmetology or barbering license with a minimum of 1 year of experience working in the beauty industry.
• Proficiency in hair care techniques including coloring, cutting, and hair treatments.
• Strong communication skills to connect effectively with clients and team members.
• Ability to perform sanitation procedures meticulously to ensure a safe environment for clients and staff.
• Involvement in staff responsibilities such as laundry and other day-to-day cleaning.
• Experience with retail sales strategies including upselling hair care products.
• Familiarity with store management practices is a plus for those interested in growth opportunities within the salon environment.
