Experienced Hair Stylist

We are seeking a talented and passionate Experienced Hair Stylist to join our vibrant salon team. In this dynamic role, you will deliver exceptional hair styling, coloring, and grooming services that leave clients feeling confident and beautiful. Your expertise will help elevate our salon's reputation for excellence, while your friendly approach ensures every client enjoys a personalized and memorable experience.

This position offers a fantastic opportunity, as one of our busy stylists is moving, so whether you are new to the area or looking to expand your client base, showcase your skills, and thrive in a supportive, energetic environment dedicated to beauty and self-expression. We pay the standard Portland hourly wage, $16.75 per hour + 50% commission on services and 15% commission on retail.

Responsibilities

• Provide expert hair styling, cutting, coloring, and texturizing services tailored to each client's preferences and hair type.
• Maintain high standards of sanitation and cleanliness in accordance with industry regulations and salon policies.
• Utilize salon software for appointment scheduling, client management, and retail sales tracking.
• Engage in effective client communication to understand their needs, offer professional recommendations, and upsell retail products such as hair care items and styling tools.
• Stay current with industry trends in hair coloring, cutting techniques, and new beauty treatments through ongoing education.

Experience

• Proven experience working as a professional hair stylist within the beauty industry with a strong portfolio of diverse styles and techniques.
• Demonstrated expertise in hair coloring, including color theory application for vibrant or subtle results.
• Experience working with retail sales strategies to upsell products confidently while maintaining excellent customer service skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively with clients to understand their vision and provide tailored recommendations for hairstyles or treatments.
• Minimum 2 years of experience as a hairstylist (Required).
