Hairstylist Assistant at Tokuyama Salon

We are always looking for energetic and passionate Hairstylist Assistants to join our team! Prior experience is favored, but not required. Fresh out of school is also welcome and encouraged to apply. If we believe that you have potential to grow, we will gladly teach you! At Tokuyama Salon, we offer our own training program where you are able to learn new techniques from our Master Stylists and owner Taka Tokuyama directly. This includes our signature hair cutting and blow dry process. We believe that a true hair stylist never stops improving!

We are ideally looking for full-time members, but we are open to part-time individuals as well. Please inquire about open availability.

Responsibilities

• Provide professional hair styling services to clients, including coloring and styling.
• Perform hair treatments such as deep conditioning, scalp massages, and head spa.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and techniques in hair styling and color.
• Consult with clients to understand their hair goals and recommend suitable styles and treatments.
• Maintain a clean and organized work station.
• Manage inventory of hair products and tools.
• Promote retail sales by recommending and selling hair care products to clients.
• Help with reception and checking out clients, ensuring everyone has been charged correctly.

Requirements

• Valid cosmetology license.
• Knowledge of color theory and ability to understand and create hair color.
• Strong communication skills to effectively interact with clients and understand their needs.
• Ability to sanitize tools and work area according to industry standards.
• Familiarity with MINDBODY or other salon management software is preferred.
• Barbering skills are a plus.
• Previous experience in store management or team leadership is a plus.
