Experienced Hair Stylist

In this role, you will bring your expert skills in hair styling, coloring, and grooming to create stunning looks tailored to each client's unique style. Your energy, creativity, and commitment to exceptional customer service will make you stand out in the crowd. If you have experience cutting all lengths and types of hair and are up-to-date with styling and coloring trends, we'd like to meet you.

Duties

• Welcome customers and identify their needs by asking open-ended, pointed questions
• Recommend hairstyles and haircuts according to customers' face shapes and preferences
• Wash, rinse, and dry clients' hair using appropriate shampoos and conditioners
• Provide expert, personalized hair styling services including cuts, color, blowouts, and special occasion styles with precision and confidence
• Perform advanced color treatments, such as highlights/lowlights, balayage, airtouch, and Italian face frame, utilizing color theory principles for consistent, customized results
• Recommend and apply hair treatment products, as needed
• Apply chemical treatments, such as perms (not required, but preferred)
• Perform waxing services (facial waxing is preferred, body waxing is not required)
• Maintain impeccable sanitation standards by cleaning tools, stations, and work areas regularly
• Offer detailed consultations to recommend suitable hair care products and upsell retail items effectively
• Stay current on industry trends
• Utilize salon software, Meevo, for appointment scheduling, rebooking, and client records
• Knowledge and experience with hair extensions and eyelash extensions is a plus

Requirements

• Valid cosmetology or barbering license with proven experience as an accomplished stylist
• Demonstrated expertise in hair styling techniques
• Strong knowledge of color theory, hair cutting, and hair care services
• Excellent communication skills to engage clients effectively and provide exceptional customer service
• Ability to perform sanitation procedures diligently in accordance with health regulations
• Experience in retail sales, upselling techniques, and retail math to maximize revenue opportunities
• Passion for fostering a positive team environment
