Hair Assistant & Guest Services at Spa Blue
Spa Blue is seeking a talented, passionate hair salon assistant to join our growing team. The ideal candidate is highly skilled, detail-oriented, and committed to delivering exceptional guest experiences working directly with the creative director and master stylist with exceptional opportunity to advance in the hair care industry on weekends.The role also requires 2 additional days of front desk work.
Key Responsibilities
Hair Assistant Responsibilities (Saturday/Sunday)
- Assist hairstylists with daily operations, including preparing clients for services (gowning, shampooing, conditioning, and treatments)
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of styling stations, tools, and equipment
- Prepare and mix color formulations as directed by stylists
- Ensure all tools and products are sanitized and ready for use
- Support stylists during services to ensure a seamless client experience
- Restock hair products and assist with retail display organization
- Stay updated on basic haircare techniques and salon protocols
Front Desk (Tuesday/Wednesday)
- Manage front desk operations, including guest check-in/check-out, scheduling, and communication via phone and email
- Warmly welcome all clients and create a relaxing, high-end spa experience
- Offer refreshments such as water, tea, or coffee to enhance guest comfort
- Handle appointment scheduling, rescheduling, and cancellations using the spa's booking system
- Respond promptly and professionally to client inquiries via phone and email
- Guide guests through services, answer questions, and recommend treatments, upgrades, or memberships when appropriate
- Process payments, billing, and gift card transactions, and perform daily reconciliation
- Promote spa services and retail products in a client-focused manner
- Oversee daily spa operations and coordinate with therapists, estheticians, and management to ensure a seamless service flow
- Maintain a clean, organized, and inviting front desk, lobby, treatment rooms, and common areas
- Ensure overall spa cleanliness and hygiene standards are consistently upheld
- Handle laundry operations, including washing, drying, folding, and restocking linens and towels
- Monitor inventory levels (towels, products, supplies) and assist with restocking and retail displays
- Support team members to maintain efficient day-to-day operations
- Address guest concerns professionally, ensuring timely resolution and escalating when necessary
- Maintain strict confidentiality of client information and adhere to spa policies
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (some college preferred)
- Prior experience in a spa, salon, or hospitality environment preferred
- Experience assisting hairstylists or basic knowledge of hair services is a plus
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and multitasking skills
- Familiarity with booking software (e.g., Mindbody, Booker, or similar systems) is a plus
- Professional appearance and customer-first mindset
- Ability to handle cash and process transactions accurately
- Willingness to learn and grow within the hair and wellness industry
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
- 1 year experience in spa, salon, or wellness preferred
- English language proficiency preferred
