Dermatology Assistant

The ideal candidate will play an integral role in supporting our dermatologists. This position requires a strong understanding of dermatological procedures, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively within a healthcare team.

Duties

• Assist dermatologists during patient examinations and procedures, ensuring a sterile environment.
• Prepare examination rooms and ensure all necessary equipment is ready for use.
• Document patient histories, vital signs, and other relevant information in medical records in our EMR.
• Provide medical administrative support, including scheduling appointments and managing patient flow as well as front office duties.
• Educate patients on skincare routines, treatment options, and post-procedure care.
• Conduct preliminary assessments of skin conditions and assist with diagnostic procedures.
• Maintain inventory of medical supplies and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
• Collaborate with internal medicine and emergency medicine teams as needed for comprehensive patient care.

Experience

• Previous experience in a clinical setting, particularly within dermatology or plastic surgery is mandatory.
• Knowledge of anatomy and dermatological conditions is essential for effective patient care.
• Experience providing medical administrative support will be considered a plus.
• Strong interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with patients and healthcare professionals.
