Assistant Colorist

Job Summary

We are seeking a talented and enthusiastic Color Assistant to join our dynamic salon team. The Color Assistant will support stylists with color application, client consultations, and salon operations, ensuring a seamless experience for clients. Responsibilities

• Assist stylists with hair coloring techniques, including applying and blending hair colors based on client preferences and color theory principles
• Support with hair extensions, eyelash extensions, and nail care services as needed
• Manage front desk duties such as scheduling appointments using salon software like MINDBODY and handling client inquiries
• Maintain salon sanitation standards to ensure a clean and safe environment for clients and staff
• Provide exceptional customer service by engaging with clients professionally and courteously
• Support store management in retail sales, upselling products such as hair styling tools, makeup, and hair care products
• Assist with store management tasks including inventory checks and merchandising displays
• Mentor new team members and contribute to a positive team environment through effective communication and collaboration
• Perform additional salon duties such as hair threading, makeup application, and basic hair styling when required

Skills

• Knowledge of hair coloring techniques and color theory principles
• Experience with hair extensions, eyelash extensions, nail care, and makeup application is a plus
• Proficiency in salon software systems like MINDBODY for appointment scheduling and client management
• Strong understanding of sanitation standards within a salon environment
• Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with clients and team members
• Ability to upsell retail products through retail math skills and customer service expertise
• Familiarity with store management practices including inventory control and merchandising
• Basic retail sales skills combined with a friendly demeanor to enhance the client experience
• Experience or training in barbering, cosmetology, or related fields is preferred but not required
• Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced salon setting while maintaining attention to detail
