Job Description

VS1 Hair Salon is seeking a friendly, professional, and highly organized Part-Time Salon Receptionist / Front Desk Coordinator to join our team. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced salon environment, has strong customer service skills, and possesses knowledge of the hair and beauty industry.

Responsibilities

Schedule and manage client appointments efficiently
Answer incoming phone calls with professionalism and excellent phone etiquette
Respond to client inquiries regarding services, pricing, stylists, and salon policies
Greet clients warmly and provide exceptional customer service
Manage the daily flow of the salon and assist with coordinating stylist schedules
Handle client check-in and check-out processes
Process payments and accurately handle cash, credit card, and other transactions
Maintain accurate daily cash drawer balances and receipts
Maintain a clean, organized, and professional front desk area
Assist with administrative, organizational, and salon management tasks as needed
Support the team to ensure smooth day-to-day salon operations

Qualifications

Required: Previous front desk or receptionist experience in a hair salon, beauty salon, spa, med spa, or similar beauty industry environment
Required: Knowledge of hair services, haircare products, salon operations, and beauty industry terminology
Strong phone etiquette and professional communication skills
Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
Experience with appointment scheduling and managing multiple tasks simultaneously
Cash handling and point-of-sale (POS) experience preferred
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Reliable, professional, and able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
Team player with a positive attitude and willingness to assist where needed

Availability Requirements

Must have open availability Monday through Sunday
Must be available to work full shifts during salon operating hours:
Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday: 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM
Thursday: 9:00 AM – 7:00 PM
Sunday: 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Position averages approximately 2–3 shifts per week
Must be flexible and available to cover shifts, switch shifts, and provide additional coverage when needed due to vacations, illnesses, or scheduling changes

Position Details

Part-time position
Pay is $180 a day
