Salon Assistant/Stylist

Here's the thing,

We are looking for new assistants or junior stylists who are eager to grow and learn. Our environment is low-key, relaxed, and luxurious. We need you to have initiative, motivation, and the ability to take direction. Schedules fluctuate with the needs of the business. We are busy and need assistants ready to take shampoos and blowdrys. We have 2 very experienced educators encouraging and mentoring your growth and development. Classes are every other week on Wednesdays and will require you to bring in live models. Whether you want to be a specialist in cutting, color, or generalize and do both, we are here for it. Applicants will need to come in for a brief interview before bringing a model to demonstrate your blowdry skills.

If you have completed an assistant training program somewhere else and want a fresh start, we would love to have you and help you continue your growth. We want you to be able to assist on set days and take clients on set days, and as your days fill up we will give you more.

Duties

• Assist stylists with various hair services, including hair extensions, hair styling, and hair threading.
• Maintain salon cleanliness and sanitation standards to ensure a safe environment for both clients and staff.
• Collaborate with team members to create a welcoming atmosphere and assist in mentoring new staff as needed.

Requirements

• Must be licensed
• Strong communication skills with an emphasis on customer service excellence.
• Previous hair assisting experience preferred but also willing to work with newly licensed individuals.
• Experience with blowouts, hair extensions, straight razor techniques, and sanitation practices is beneficial.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining professionalism.
• Willingness to learn new skills and adapt to the evolving needs of the salon industry.
