The candidate for this position is a recent graduate or has 1 to 2 years of experience in the salon/beauty industry with a love for natural haircare, styling, and braiding. This is an entry-level position with growth opportunities.

Looking for talented individuals to join our team at SimpleeBEAUTIFUL CurlyTexturedBAR located at 115 Edgecombe Avenue, Harlem. The ideal candidate will have a deep passion and love for natural haircare, styling, and braiding. The salon is owned by celebrity textured architect and author of the book, Textured Tresses, Diane Da Costa, and co-founder of the Natural Hairstyle & Braid Coalition (NHBC). Salon training is provided.

Must be a trustworthy, committed, hardworking, and independent thinker.

This part-time/full-time position will offer a chance to work with and train directly with the owner, celebrity stylist, and author.

Qualified applicants are asked to provide a 3-minute self-video with an application, explaining their goals, skills, and expertise.

Responsibilities

• Consult with guests on their hair needs, recommending professional hair care services, products, and accessories
• Acknowledge and greet all guests and offer friendly, prompt, and courteous service
• Use product prescriptive sheets to prescribe professional salon products
• Meet or exceed all individual sales and productivity goals
• Attend all mandatory education events and workshops
• Assist in store duties (e.g., filling salon retail displays and shelves)
• Adhere to SimpleeBEAUTIFUL standards for guest service and cleanliness
• Adhere to the salon dress code
