Independent Contractor Nail Technician at VARNISH AVENUE

VARNISH AVENUE is a trendy, art-focused, GEL-ONLY salon in East Harlem. No acrylic. We specialize in luxury gel, Gel-X, creative nail art, and pedicures. We're hiring independent, career-minded techs who want a beautiful space, real marketing support, and great pay.

Compensation

• 60% Commission to Technician / 40% to Salon on all services
• 100% of your tips are yours
• Tiered growth: Start at 60/40, opportunity to earn up to 65% with clientele growth and retention
• Commission is on service total. We provide table, chair, e-file, gel polishes, and disposables for pedicures.

What You'll Do

• Provide structured gel manicures, Gel-X / soft gel extensions, and luxury pedicures
• Execute high-level nail art and custom designs
• Maintain strict NY State Board sanitation
• Build client relationships and retention
• Be camera confident for Instagram / TikTok content and comfortable filming your own work

Requirements

• NY Nail Specialty License OR currently enrolled Nail Tech Student
• 1-2 years professional experience as a GEL technician
• Gel-X / Structured Gel expertise REQUIRED. We do not offer acrylic.
• Nail art portfolio REQUIRED + pedicures REQUIRED
• Professional, punctual, reliable
• Must have own tools / bits / brushes

Schedule

Flexible - Part-time to Full-time, you set your hours. Weekend availability preferred.
