Nail Salon Receptionist at The Shade
OverviewThe Shade is hiring a Nail Salon Receptionist to be the face of our studio and the first impression every guest takes home. If you light up a room, love a fast pace, and take pride in a spotlessly clean, beautifully run space, you'll fit right in. This is a paid role for someone who thrives at the intersection of hospitality, organization, and elevated service — keeping our front desk humming, our guests pampered, and our space immaculate. You'll be the heartbeat of the studio: greeting guests, managing the book, supporting our nail technicians, and helping uphold the sanitation and presentation standards The Shade is known for.
What You'll Do
- Welcome every guest with warmth and confidence — set the tone for a calm, luxe Shade experience the moment they walk in
- Run the front desk with energy and ease: answer multi-line phones, book appointments, respond to inquiries, and handle requests with polish
- Own the daily schedule using our booking software — coordinate with nail technicians to maximize the book, minimize gaps, and keep service flowing
- Manage guest check-ins and check-outs efficiently, including any required intake forms or service notes
- Process payments through our point-of-sale system, issue receipts, and handle transactions accurately and securely
- Uphold The Shade's sanitation standards at the front of house — keep the reception area immaculate, organized, and fully stocked; wipe down high-touch surfaces between guests; ensure retail displays and waiting areas are presentation-ready at all times
- Support the technicians and management team in maintaining a clean, well-organized salon — restock stations, route used implements appropriately, and flag anything that needs attention
- Handle clerical work: data entry, guest record management, proofreading appointment confirmations, and general office correspondence
- Be a brand ambassador — answer questions about services, retail, and memberships with confidence
What You Bring
- Previous reception, office, or hospitality experience in a customer-facing role (salon, spa, hotel, or boutique a plus)
- Strong tech skills — comfortable with Mindbody/Booker POS a plus
- Great phone etiquette and experience handling a multi-line phone with grace under pressure
- Bilingual abilities are a major plus — we serve a diverse clientele
- Sharp organizational skills and an eye for detail — scheduling, filing, proofreading, and keeping the space tidy come naturally
- A genuine commitment to cleanliness and salon sanitation standards (we take this seriously)
- Time management skills that hold up in a fast-paced, busy studio
