Massage Therapist

Responsibilities

• Provide a variety of massage techniques including Swedish, deep tissue, trigger point therapy, sports massage, prenatal massage, and medical massage tailored to individual client needs
• Conduct thorough patient assessments to determine appropriate treatment plans and identify areas of concern
• Communicate effectively with clients to understand their goals, explain treatment procedures, and offer post-session recommendations
• Maintain detailed records of treatments, client progress, and any relevant health information in compliance with privacy standards
• Stay current with industry best practices, new techniques, and continuing education opportunities to enhance service quality
• Ensure a clean, safe, and welcoming environment by adhering to sanitation protocols and occupational health standards
• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals when necessary to support comprehensive patient care and pain management strategies

Requirements

• Valid state-issued massage therapy license or certification in good standing
• Proven experience in various massage modalities such as Swedish, deep tissue, trigger point therapy, sports massage, prenatal massage, and medical massage
• Strong knowledge of human physiology and anatomy to inform effective treatment approaches
• Excellent patient communication skills with the ability to assess client needs accurately and provide clear explanations of procedures
• Familiarity with medical terminology related to pain management and occupational health considerations
• Certification in CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation) from an accredited organization
• Prior experience working in med spas or clinical settings is preferred but not required
• Ability to build rapport with clients through compassionate customer service and attentive client communication
