NYS Licensed Massage Therapist

Responsibilities

• Deliver a variety of massage techniques including Swedish, deep tissue, trigger point therapy, prenatal massage, and other specialized modalities tailored to client needs
• Conduct thorough patient assessments to understand individual concerns, medical history, and treatment goals
• Educate clients on self-care practices and post-treatment recommendations to maximize benefits
• Maintain detailed and accurate documentation of each session, including client progress and treatment plans
• Ensure a clean, safe, and welcoming environment in compliance with all health regulations and licensing standards
• Communicate effectively with clients to understand their preferences and address any concerns or questions
• Stay current with industry best practices, new techniques, and continuing education opportunities to enhance skills

Requirements

• Valid NYS Massage Therapist license in good standing
• Proven experience with various massage modalities such as Swedish, deep tissue, sports massage, trigger point therapy, prenatal massage, and occupational health treatments
• Ability to perform 60 minute, 75 minute, and 90 minute treatments
• Strong knowledge of human physiology and anatomy to tailor treatments effectively
• Ability to perform patient assessments and develop customized treatment plans based on individual needs
• Excellent customer service skills with a focus on patient communication and satisfaction
• Familiarity with medical terminology relevant to massage therapy and pain management
• Prior experience working in spa settings or occupational health environments is preferred
