Licensed Massage Therapist

Responsibilities

• Perform a variety of massage techniques including Swedish, deep tissue, trigger point therapy, sports massage, prenatal massage, and occupational health treatments to meet individual client needs.
• Conduct thorough patient assessments to understand their health history, current concerns, and treatment goals.
• Educate clients on the benefits of massage therapy and provide guidance on self-care practices for pain management and injury prevention.
• Maintain detailed and accurate client records, including treatment notes, progress reports, and health histories.
• Ensure a safe and hygienic environment by adhering to sanitation standards and maintaining proper equipment usage.
• Communicate effectively with clients about their comfort levels, treatment plans, and any medical considerations using clear client communication skills.
• Stay current with industry best practices by participating in ongoing education related to physiology knowledge, anatomy knowledge, medical terminology, CPR certification, and new massage techniques.

Requirements

• Valid state licensure as a Massage Therapist with current certification.
• Proven experience in various massage modalities such as Swedish massage, deep tissue massage, trigger point therapy, sports massage, prenatal massage, and medical spa treatments.
• Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, medical terminology, and pain management principles.
• Excellent patient service skills with the ability to assess client needs accurately and tailor treatments accordingly.
• Demonstrated customer service skills with a friendly and professional demeanor that fosters client trust and satisfaction.
• Ability to communicate effectively with clients about their health concerns and treatment options.
• CPR certification is required; additional certifications in occupational health or med spa experience are a plus.
• Prior experience working in a healthcare or wellness setting is preferred; familiarity with medical terminology enhances your effectiveness.
