Job Description

MaxCraft Studio is looking for an experienced, motivated hairstylist to join a modern, beautifully designed studio in the heart of Downtown Boston. This is a great opportunity for someone with an existing client base who wants a stable, supportive environment — without going fully solo yet.

Who We're Looking For:

• Licensed hairstylist with 4+ years of experience
• Based in Boston or with a short commute
• Has a partial or full clientele
• Professional, clean, reliable, and kind
• Actively promotes their work via Instagram or other social platforms
• Interested in building long-term or transitioning into independence in the future

• W2 employment
• Commission-based pay starting at 55%
• Opportunity to grow to 60% after 1 year, based on performance
• Private studio space with full amenities inside Sola Salons Boston
• Prime location in Downtown Boston, across from Government Center

Schedule Options

Shifts are offered in two blocks:

• Morning shift: 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM
• Evening shift: 3:00 PM – 9:00 PM

Your schedule will alternate with the owner's — for example, you may work mornings while the owner works evenings, or vice versa. Schedule can be discussed and adjusted to fit your availability and client needs.

Social Media Expectations

MaxCraft Studio promotes services via advertising and social media, but the ideal stylist:

• Has an active Instagram or online portfolio
• Regularly posts their work (photos, reels, stories, etc.)
• Is comfortable promoting their own services online

This helps you grow faster and avoid relying solely on studio marketing.

Responsibilities:

• Provide high-quality haircuts for men, women, and all genders
• Perform professional color services: single-process, all-over color, highlights, balayage, lowlights
• Other modern techniques (Airtouch, foilage, etc.) are welcome
• Maintain a clean, organized station during your shift
• Fully clean and reset the space after your shift ends
• Deliver excellent customer service and communicate clearly
• Stylists with additional skills (extensions, bridal, textured hair, etc.) are highly welcome
