Overview

We are looking for a stylist to join our salon. We are a small and chill salon, located in the East Village for the last 18 years. We would like someone to work 3/4 days a week, commission. Must have NYS license and preferably an established clientele. Looking for someone who is inspired, creative, likes to learn new techniques and is current with hair trends. Must be a team player, we all work together, no drama.

Responsibilities

• Cutting and/or coloring. Knowledge of scissor and razor cuts. Hair color, highlights, balayage
• Conduct consultations to understand client needs and recommend suitable styles or treatments
• Maintain high standards of sanitation and hygiene
• Operate salon software system, Vagaro for scheduling appointments, managing client records, and processing retail sales
• Provide exceptional customer service by creating a welcoming and inclusive environment
• Assist with front desk duties including appointment bookings, check-ins, and managing client flow to ensure smooth salon operations
• Arrive at work 20 minutes before your first appointment, being punctual is a must

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Hairdresser or Barber with a strong portfolio showcasing diverse styling skills
• Solid understanding of color theory and hair coloring techniques to deliver vibrant results
• Certification in Cosmetology or Barbering from an accredited institution
