Hairstylist Assistant at Le-Del's Hair Stylist
Join Le-Del's Hair Stylist, an established Mount Vernon salon known for healthy hair care, natural hair maintenance, relaxers, and color, with a loyal following for textured and Black hair care. We're growing our team and looking for a motivated part-time Hairstylist Assistant to join us. This role is paid.Schedule
- Part-time to start: Thursday, Friday, and Saturday
- Thursday and Friday: salon opens at 9:30 AM
- Saturday: salon opens at 8:00 AM
Pay
- Starting at $17/hour for a new assistant
- $20/hour if you have an existing clientele
- Experienced stylists: pay can be discussed
- Commission: 60/40 split. Weave services are a 50/50 split.
Duties
- Shampoo, roller set, and apply color
- Perform silk presses and haircuts
- Assist with weave maintenance and installation, braids, and extensions as needed
- Serve your own clients and grow your clientele
- Maintain a professional appearance and a clean, organized work area
Experience
- Licensed, or currently in cosmetology school with clients (required)
- Able to shampoo, roller set, and apply color
- Experience with silk presses and haircuts
- Weave maintenance and installation experience is preferred but not required
- Weave, braid, and extension experience is always welcome
- A clientele base is a plus
- Professional attire required
