Children's Salon Hairstylist

In this energetic role, you will provide expert hair cutting, styling, and grooming services tailored specifically for children. Duties

• Perform a variety of hair services including cuts and fades
• Create a welcoming and playful atmosphere that eases children's anxiety and ensures a positive experience
• Maintain high standards of sanitation and hygiene in all procedures, including sterilization of tools and salon cleanliness
• Use advanced salon software such as Mangomint to schedule appointments, manage client records, and process transactions efficiently
• Provide expert advice on hair care routines, product recommendations, and retail sales to enhance client satisfaction
• Communicate clearly with clients and their families to understand their needs and explain service options effectively
• Mentor junior team members on techniques to foster skill development
• Upsell retail products confidently by demonstrating their benefits and aligning them with client needs
• Manage front desk responsibilities including greeting clients, answering inquiries, and coordinating appointment flow seamlessly

Requirements

• Valid cosmetology or barbering license with experience working in the beauty industry
• Proficiency in hair cutting techniques
• Knowledge of sanitation standards to ensure a safe environment for children
• Experience using salon management software like Mangomint or similar platforms
• Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with children and parents alike
• Familiarity with retail math for upselling products confidently without overselling
• Excellent communication skills to mentor team members and provide exceptional client communication
• Flexibility to adapt to a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
• Current MA Cosmetology or Barber license (Required)
