Associate Hair Stylist at Contours Salon & MedSpa

Contours Salon & MedSpa in Bloomfield, CT is hiring licensed cosmetologists for our Associate Stylist Education Program.

This opportunity is designed for recent graduates and developing stylists who want to improve their technical skills, gain practical salon experience, and work toward a commissioned stylist position.

You'll receive hands-on instruction from our dedicated in-house trainer, along with guidance from experienced stylists. Through structured education and daily salon experience, you'll develop confidence in both your craft and your client relationships.

Training Areas

• Haircutting, finishing, and styling techniques
• Hair color application and formulation
• Client consultations and service recommendations
• Blowouts and thermal styling
• Guest care and professional communication
• Retail product knowledge and home care recommendations
• Appointment timing and salon workflow
• Client retention and relationship building

Responsibilities

• Support experienced stylists with daily services and preparation
• Welcome guests and help prepare them for their appointments
• Perform shampooing, blow-drying, and styling as training progresses
• Keep workstations and shared salon areas clean and organized
• Attend scheduled education sessions and complete assigned practice
• Apply coaching and feedback to improve your skills
• Help create a friendly, professional experience for every guest

Qualifications

• Active Connecticut cosmetology license
• Willingness to learn, practice, and receive constructive feedback
• Dependable attendance and a professional approach
• Strong communication and customer service skills
• Enthusiasm for developing a career in the beauty industry
• Ability to collaborate with trainers, stylists, and front desk staff
