Hair Stylist at Tomoko Shima Hair Salon

Tomoko Shima Hair Salon is an established NYC salon offering haircuts, color, Japanese Head Spa, smoothing treatments, and other professional services.

We are seeking experienced, motivated stylists for full-time, part-time, or commission-based positions in a supportive salon environment.

Available Positions

• 4+ days per week
• $17–$22 per hour, based on experience and technical assessment
• Commission option may be available
• Existing clientele welcome but not required
• Opportunities to build clientele through salon clients and walk-ins
• Flexible scheduling

• Flexible schedule
• 50% commission
• Higher rates may be available based on experience, clientele, and technical assessment
• Existing clientele preferred
• Opportunities to grow through salon clients and walk-ins

Start Date and Paid Training

• The official start date is October 1.
• Before the start date, selected candidates are expected to attend several days of paid training during September, based on their availability.
• Training dates and schedules will be arranged in advance with the salon.

Responsibilities

• Provide haircut, styling, and color services
• Consult with clients and recommend appropriate services
• Deliver excellent customer service
• Maintain a clean, professional environment
• Collaborate with the salon team

Experience with Japanese Head Spa, smoothing treatments, or specialty services is a plus.

Qualifications

• Valid New York State Cosmetology License
• 3+ years of salon experience
• Strong haircut and color skills
• Excellent communication and customer service
• Professional, reliable, and team-oriented
