Responsibilities

• Provide expert hair styling services including cuts, blowouts, styling, and special occasion looks.
• Perform advanced hair treatments such as coloring, highlights, balayage, and hair extensions using techniques like tape-in or keratin bonds.
• Maintain high standards of sanitation and cleanliness in all work areas, tools, and equipment.
• Offer personalized consultations to understand client preferences and recommend suitable styles or treatments based on hair type and face shape.
• Utilize salon software like MINDBODY to schedule appointments, manage client records, and process retail sales efficiently.
• Upsell retail products such as shampoos, conditioners, styling tools, and hair care accessories to enhance client results and salon revenue.
• Keep current with the latest trends in hair styling, coloring techniques, and industry best practices through ongoing education.
• Assist with front desk duties including greeting clients, managing wait times, and ensuring a smooth salon flow.
• Mentor junior team members by sharing techniques in hair threading, eyelash extensions, makeup application, or nail care to foster a collaborative environment.
• Manage store operations when needed by supporting store management with inventory control and retail math calculations.

Experience

• Proven cosmetology or barbering certification with experience in diverse hair services.
• Strong knowledge of color theory and advanced coloring techniques such as balayage or ombré.
• Experience working with hair extensions (tape-in, keratin bonds) and eyelash extensions is highly desirable.
• Familiarity with salon software systems like MINDBODY for appointment booking and retail management.
• Excellent communication skills that enable clear client consultations and team collaboration.
• Demonstrated ability to deliver outstanding customer service while upselling products effectively.
• Knowledge of sanitation standards and best practices in a professional salon setting.
• Ability to mentor colleagues in techniques like hair threading or makeup application while fostering a positive team environment.
