Overview

Salon 241 is hiring an experienced hairstylist looking for part-time hours here in Northampton! Our ideal candidate would have experience with all hair textures and lengths, be a kind and personable team member, be passionate about their career, and be excited to be a part of our community.

We offer competitive, commission and experience-based pay, sick time, and a matching 401k program.

We use Davines color, and Davines, Oribe, and Cult and King products. We offer a variety of quarterly education classes, as we are committed to the continuing education of our team.

Responsibilities

• Provide a range of hair styling services, including cuts, color treatments, and styling techniques.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring all tools and equipment are sanitized and in good condition.
• Consult with clients to understand their desired looks and provide professional recommendations.
• Stay updated on the latest trends in hair care, styling techniques, and products to offer clients the best service possible.
• Promote retail products that complement salon services, utilizing retail math skills to manage inventory effectively.
• Collaborate with team members to create a positive salon environment that fosters creativity and teamwork.

Requirements

• Valid cosmetology license or equivalent certification.
• Proven experience in hair styling with a strong portfolio showcasing your work.
• Proficiency in various hair techniques.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to build rapport with clients.
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality service.
• A passion for the beauty industry and a desire for continuous learning and professional development.
