We are seeking talented and passionate African Hair Braiders to join our dynamic salon team. This is commission-based. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional skills in hair braiding techniques and a strong understanding of various hair care practices. This role requires a commitment to providing outstanding customer service while creating beautiful and intricate hairstyles for our clients. As a Hair Braider, you will play an essential role in enhancing the overall experience of our clients and contributing to the success of our salon.

Duties

• Perform various hair braiding techniques, including but not limited to box braids, boho, French braids, stitch braids, cornrows, and twists.
• Provide consultations to clients regarding their desired styles and recommend appropriate hair care products.
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards in accordance with salon policies.
• Stay updated on current trends in hair styling, color theory, and braiding techniques.
• Mentor junior staff members in braiding techniques and customer service best practices.
• Promote additional services such as eyelash extensions, makeup application, and nail care through effective upselling strategies.

Qualifications

• Valid license is preferred.
• Proven experience in hair braiding and styling with a strong portfolio showcasing your work.
• Knowledge of hair extensions application techniques is a plus.
• Strong communication skills to effectively interact with clients and team members.
• Ability to perform retail math for sales transactions and inventory management.
• Experience in customer service with a focus on building lasting client relationships.
• Understanding of sanitation practices within a salon environment.
• A passion for beauty trends and continuous learning in the field.
