Job Summary

We are seeking a talented and passionate Hair Braider to join our dynamic salon team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of various braiding techniques and styles, along with a commitment to providing exceptional customer service. As a Hair Braider, you will be responsible for creating beautiful and intricate hairstyles while ensuring a positive and welcoming experience for our clients.

Responsibilities

• Perform various hair braiding techniques, including but not limited to cornrows, box braids, and twists.
• Provide consultations to clients regarding their desired styles and recommend appropriate hair extensions when necessary.
• Maintain a clean and sanitary work environment in accordance with salon standards.
• Utilize salon software, such as GlossGenius, for appointment scheduling and client management.
• Assist with front desk duties, including greeting clients and managing appointments.
• Educate clients on hair care products and services, promoting retail sales through effective upselling techniques.
• Stay updated on the latest trends in hair styling and braiding techniques.
• Mentor junior staff members in hair braiding techniques and salon practices as needed.
• Ensure compliance with all sanitation regulations and best practices within the salon.

Qualifications

• Valid cosmetology or barbering license is preferred but not required.
• Proven experience in hair styling, particularly in braiding and hair extensions.
• Familiarity with salon management software or similar platforms.
• Strong communication skills to effectively interact with clients and team members.
• Knowledge of sanitation practices related to hair care services.
• Experience in retail sales within a salon environment is a plus.
• A passion for the beauty industry and a commitment to ongoing education and skill development.

Pay Rates

• This is a commission based salon, stylists will be paid 50% commission on all services provided.
• Stylists will also be given 10% commission on all retail products sold.
• Tips are through cash, Venmo, CashApp, and/or Apple Pay.
