Responsibilities

• Create a variety of braiding styles including box braids, cornrows, twists, and intricate updos tailored to each client's preferences.
• Apply hair extensions seamlessly to enhance length and volume while maintaining natural appearance.
• Provide expert advice on hair care routines, color treatments, and styling options based on client needs.
• Maintain strict sanitation standards by properly cleaning tools and workstations after each client to ensure a safe environment.
• Use salon software such as MINDBODY to schedule appointments, manage client records, and process retail sales efficiently.
• Assist with front desk duties including greeting clients, answering inquiries, and managing appointment flow.
• Upsell retail products like hair care items, styling tools, and accessories to enhance the client experience and boost sales.
• Mentor junior team members in hair styling techniques, sanitation practices, and customer service excellence.

Requirements

• Proven experience in hair braiding techniques such as box braids, cornrows, twists, or similar styles.
• Knowledge of hair extensions application and blending for natural-looking results.
• Familiarity with salon management software like MINDBODY for scheduling and retail transactions.
• Strong understanding of color theory for advising clients on color treatments and corrections.
• Ability to perform additional services such as eyelash extensions, makeup application, or nail care is a plus.
• Excellent communication skills to connect with clients and collaborate effectively with team members.
• Knowledge of sanitation protocols specific to cosmetology and barbering practices to ensure safety standards are met.
• Experience with retail sales techniques including upselling and retail math calculations to maximize revenue.
• Basic store management skills including front desk operations and client retention strategies.
