Experienced Natural Hair Stylist at Renaissance Curls

Renaissance Curls is a salon that specializes in curly and coily hair care. We believe in mentorship over competition, and we're looking for experienced Styling Assistants who want to grow their skills in a supportive, education-focused environment.

Here, you'll get structured training, work with experienced stylists, and be part of a team that's dedicated to creating amazing experiences for clients with textured hair.

The Role

This position gives you the chance to take your natural hair skills to the next level. You'll join our training program, learn our specialized techniques, and work alongside senior stylists who are committed to helping you succeed.

Training Overview

• 90-day foundation period where you'll learn our methods and standards for textured hair
• Learning Chair sessions on select Mondays (plus some weekdays) for hands-on education and skill building
• Optional advanced color training available after you complete the foundation program

Schedule

• Must be available to work Weekends, and mandatory trainings on Mondays. Additional availability will be granted post-training (our salon is open Wednesday through Sunday).

Requirements

You Must Have:

• Valid Cosmetology License or Natural Hair License
• 1-2 years of experience styling naturally coily and curly hair
• Skills demo required: If selected, you'll complete a short in-person styling demonstration before we finalize hiring
• Strong communication skills
• Openness to feedback and coaching
• Reliable transportation and good attendance

Nice to Have:

• Photos or portfolio of your work with textured hair
• Customer service experience

Career Growth

Once you master our core services and show strong performance during evening and weekend hours, you can advance into one of two specialty roles:

Senior Stylist: Lead training for new team members and help with salon operations

Color Specialist: Get advanced training in color services and guide others in color techniques

Both paths come with more responsibility and higher pay.
