As a licensed barber, you'll deliver thoughtful grooming services and help clients feel confident through skilled, personalized care. You'll consult with clients, recommend suitable services, and maintain a clean, welcoming workspace. Your impact: By combining attentive client communication with precise barbering, you help clients achieve styles that suit their needs and feel good about their visit.
Responsibilities
- Provide barbering services, including hair styling, straight-razor work, hair care, and hair coloring; apply color theory when recommending or performing color services.
- Discuss client preferences clearly and offer relevant services or products, including hair extensions, hair threading, eyelash extensions, makeup application, and nail care when within your scope.
- Deliver attentive customer service, support retail sales and appropriate upselling, and assist with front desk tasks as needed.
- Follow sanitation practices and maintain a clean, organized service area.
- Use salon software, including MINDBODY where applicable, and support store management tasks or mentor colleagues as assigned.
Experience
- Required: Current barber license valid for the work location, with knowledge of barbering, cosmetology fundamentals, hair care, and sanitation.
- Required: Strong communication skills, client communication, and a customer-focused approach; experience working in the beauty industry is valuable.
- Preferred: Experience with salon software or MINDBODY, straight-razor services, hair coloring, color theory, hair styling, or hair extensions.
- Preferred: Familiarity with retail math, retail sales, upselling, front desk operations, store management, or mentoring.
- Additional service skills such as hair threading, eyelash extensions, makeup application, and nail care are welcome; perform services only when qualified and permitted.
