We are seeking a Medical Assistant / Licensed Aesthetician for our Melville location. This hybrid position combines clinical Medical Assistant responsibilities with aesthetic services and client care.

The ideal candidate is equally comfortable supporting medical providers, maintaining accurate clinical documentation, performing aesthetic services within their scope of practice, and helping clients develop treatment and skincare plans that support their goals.

Medical & Clinical Support

  • Welcome clients, complete patient intake, obtain medical histories, and prepare clients for appointments and procedures.
  • Obtain and document vital signs and other relevant clinical information accurately and efficiently.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic health record (EHR/EMR).
  • Prepare treatment rooms, supplies, equipment, and clients for medical and aesthetic procedures.
  • Assist physicians, nurse practitioners, nurses, and other authorized healthcare providers with procedures and treatments as appropriate.
  • Provide pre-treatment and post-treatment instructions and reinforce provider-directed care plans.
  • Support basic clinical procedures, including phlebotomy and other Medical Assistant functions when appropriately trained, authorized, and permitted within applicable scope-of-practice requirements.
  • Monitor clients during appointments and promptly communicate concerns or changes to the appropriate medical provider.
  • Support prescription, laboratory, referral, authorization, and other clinical workflows as directed by the medical team.
  • Maintain accurate medical records and support appropriate coding and documentation processes.
  • Maintain appropriate levels of clinical and treatment supplies and communicate inventory needs.
  • Follow all established HIPAA, infection-control, sanitation, safety, and clinical protocols.

Aesthetic Services

  • Perform aesthetic services permitted under New York State licensure and L'Elite MediSpa protocols.
  • Conduct comprehensive skincare consultations and help clients identify appropriate services and skincare options.
  • Perform facials, chemical peels, and other non-invasive aesthetic treatments within the individual's authorized scope of practice and training.
  • Educate clients about treatments, expected results, aftercare, skincare routines, and recommended products.
  • Develop personalized skincare recommendations based on client concerns, goals, treatment history, and provider guidance.
  • Maintain complete and accurate treatment notes, before-and-after documentation, and other required client records.
  • Follow established treatment protocols and maintain the highest standards for client safety, sanitation, and infection control.
  • Stay current on skincare products, aesthetic treatments, protocols, and industry developments.

Client Experience, Retention & Sales

Every member of the L'Elite team contributes to creating an exceptional client experience and building long-term client relationships.

  • Provide a warm, polished, and professional experience from consultation through post-treatment follow-up.
  • Build trusted relationships by listening to clients, understanding their goals, and providing thoughtful recommendations.
  • Educate clients about treatment plans, packages, memberships, and professional skincare products when appropriate.
  • Support rebooking, treatment-plan adherence, client retention, and continuity of care.
  • Identify appropriate opportunities to recommend additional services or products that align with the client's goals.
  • Contribute to individual and location goals related to client satisfaction, retention, rebooking, treatment conversion, and sales.
  • Follow up with clients as appropriate to support their experience and treatment outcomes.
  • Collaborate closely with providers, aestheticians, front-desk staff, and leadership to create a seamless client journey.

Required Qualifications

  • Current New York State Aesthetician/Esthetics license.
  • Medical Assistant certification and/or relevant Medical Assistant education and experience.
  • Experience with patient intake, vital signs, clinical documentation, and provider support.
  • Working knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, infection control, and clinical safety practices.
  • Experience using EHR/EMR systems and maintaining accurate medical documentation.
  • Strong understanding of sanitation and infection-control requirements.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain confidential information.
  • Ability to balance clinical responsibilities, aesthetic services, client experience, and administrative responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Professional, dependable, organized, and comfortable taking ownership of assigned responsibilities.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a medical spa, dermatology, plastic surgery, cosmetic medicine, wellness practice, or other outpatient clinical environment.
  • Hands-on experience providing professional skincare treatments.
  • BLS certification.
  • Phlebotomy training or certification.
  • Knowledge of ICD coding and medical documentation practices.
  • Experience assisting with cosmetic or dermatologic procedures.
  • Experience with aesthetic consultations, treatment-plan development, retail skincare, memberships, or service packages.
  • Demonstrated success with client retention, rebooking, and sales in a medical aesthetics, wellness, or luxury service environment.

Who Will Thrive in This Role

You may be a great fit if you enjoy the clinical precision of Medical Assisting and the client relationships that come with aesthetics.

You are comfortable moving between preparing a client for a medical provider, accurately documenting clinical information, performing an aesthetic treatment, discussing a skincare regimen, and helping the team maintain an organized and welcoming environment.

You take initiative, follow through on responsibilities, communicate effectively with your team, and recognize that excellent client care includes safety, clinical accuracy, hospitality, education, and consistency.

Why Join L'Elite MediSpa?
