Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough patient assessments to develop personalized acupuncture treatment plans aligned with medical needs and patient goals
- Administer acupuncture treatments using sterile techniques, ensuring safety and comfort for each patient
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals across specialties such as orthopedics, geriatrics, hospital medicine, and post-acute care to integrate acupuncture into comprehensive care plans
- Maintain detailed documentation of treatments, patient progress, and clinical notes in accordance with healthcare regulations and standards
- Educate patients on the benefits of acupuncture and related therapies, including dance therapy and other integrative approaches when appropriate
- Monitor patient responses during sessions and adjust techniques as necessary to optimize outcomes
- Stay current with advancements in physiology, anatomy, medical terminology, and sub-acute care practices to enhance treatment efficacy
Skills
- Strong knowledge of human physiology, anatomy, and medical terminology relevant to acupuncture practice
- Experience working in outpatient clinics
- Familiarity with orthopedic conditions for diverse patient populations
- Ability to communicate effectively with multidisciplinary teams and patients from varied backgrounds
- Demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional development in acupuncture techniques and integrative therapies
- Compassionate approach with excellent interpersonal skills to build trust and rapport with patients
