“Salon Marcello: The Art of Hair Design” is the brainchild of Marcello Barone. After many years working and developing a loyal customer base in Lexington/Arlington, he was looking for a new challenge. Almost serendipitously he came across an opportunity to purchase a small building in East Lexington. “I was washing my car in East Lexington when I looked up and saw a ‘for sale’ sign on the building across the street. I walked over, peeked in the window, and it just clicked,” he said.The first thing people notice when they walk in is that it is a comfortable and welcoming place. It is very much a family business. His wife Teresa greets the clients with a two cheek kiss and a big smile. Then you might notice the art work; the space was designed to accommodate changing shows of local artists. The vibe is multicultural.“We are a teamwork salon” says Marcello. “We all help each other out.”Salon Marcello is very current with the latest styles, techniques, and science of hair.
