Duties

• Assist senior stylists with haircuts, blowouts, coloring, and styling using professional techniques such as hair extensions, eyelash extensions, and hair threading
• Prepare clients for services by consulting on desired looks and explaining treatment options, including makeup application and nail care
• Maintain salon cleanliness and sanitation standards, ensuring all tools and workstations are properly sanitized according to industry regulations
• Operate salon software systems like MINDBODY for appointment scheduling, client records, and retail sales transactions
• Support front desk responsibilities by greeting clients, managing check-in/check-out processes, and handling retail product upselling
• Assist with store management tasks such as inventory tracking of hair products, retail items, and salon supplies using retail math skills
• Mentor new team members in customer service excellence, technical skills, and salon procedures to foster a collaborative environment

Skills

• Proficiency in hair styling techniques including cutting, coloring (color theory), straight razor shaves, and hair extensions application
• Knowledge of salon software platforms like MINDBODY for booking and client management
• Strong understanding of sanitation practices to ensure a safe and hygienic environment for clients and staff
• Experience with retail sales strategies, upselling products such as hair care items, makeup products, and nail care essentials
• Excellent communication skills to effectively engage with clients and team members while providing personalized service
• Ability to perform specialized services like eyelash extensions, hair threading, and barbering techniques confidently
• Basic store management skills including inventory control and retail math calculations to support daily operations
